Today, I graduated from the Swift Accelerator Programme (Class of 2025). It honestly feels surreal how fast time goes by.
I joined for the Swift language, mostly expecting something formal — like 500 people in an auditorium listening to lectures and briefings.
Reality begged to differ. It wasn’t papers, exams, and a side of “do your homework” like I initially expected. As a matter of fact, every session felt genuinely interesting. The entire environment was one that made everyone actually want to be there. I’ve barely, if ever, used titles like “Mr/Mrs/Mdm” within the programme itself — that just goes to show how easygoing it is. Not to mention the more-than-occasional shenanigans.
I might have joined for Swift, but I definitely stayed for the community.
Over the 9 months, I worked on 3 apps with my groups in the course of the programme — the last of which, Scripties, is on the App Store. The lessons learnt extended beyond just code: ideation, prototyping, collaboration, and so much more. It was learning surrounded by people who push and inspire you.
I’m grateful to all the mentors, trainers, and alumni who made this experience possible. To anyone considering joining SAP, my only advice is to sign up — no questions asked. It’s easily one of the best communities I’ve been part of.
Special thanks to my Challenge 3 teammates Yap Long Chan, Ethan Soh, Divya Dharshini Krishnamoorthy and our mentor Avyan Mehra. I’m honoured to have built Scripties together with them.
